climate action
The Leeds African Communities Charity Trust has received funding to help establish and manage the Little London Climate Action Project. The aim of this project is to engage with residents of the Little London community to discuss the climate change emergency and deliver community-led activities that bring sustainable change in response.
The project also aims to engage people and organisations in the community to promote behaviour change that will contribute to overall goals of Leeds becoming zero carbon, nature friendly and socially just by 2030.
The Project Worker employed by LACT will be working with local schools to involve children in tree planting, and energy and water saving projects.
Local residents will be encouraged and supported to plant trees and flowers, and help beautify the area.
